Terms and Conditions

This is a working draft that describes how Players operates today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer, and the bracketed details below still need to be filled in.

1. Who we are

Players is a platform for finding and booking sports venues — turf, courts and nets — operated by [legal entity name], registered at [registered address], India. In these terms, “we” and “Players” mean that company, and “you” means anyone using the site or the app.

2. What Players does

We list venues operated by independent partners and let you reserve a slot at one. We are not the operator of those venues. The venue is responsible for the facility itself, its condition, its staff and the session you turn up to play. We are responsible for the booking and payment experience.

3. Your account

You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code, so keeping access to that number is what keeps access to your account. Adding a name is optional. You must be old enough to enter a contract, or have a parent or guardian book on your behalf.

4. Bookings

A booking is confirmed once payment has been taken and you can see it in your account. Until then the slot is not held for you. Please check the venue, court, date and time before paying — those details come from the venue and are what the venue will hold you to.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are set by the venue and shown before you pay. Some venues let you pay the full amount online; others let you pay half online and the balance at the venue. Which options you have is shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Razorpay — we do not store your card details.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Each venue sets its own cancellation and rescheduling policy, shown on the venue’s page. To ask for a refund, use the booking in your account and submit a request; it goes to the venue, who decides. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and can take several working days to appear. Anything paid at the venue rather than online is settled with the venue directly.

7. Turning up

Bring your booking — the QR code on your booking page is what venue staff scan to check you in. Arriving late does not extend your slot. Follow the venue’s own rules on footwear, equipment and conduct while you are there.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use Players to make fraudulent bookings, to resell slots, to interfere with the service, or to attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours. We may suspend an account that does.

9. Liability

Sport carries risk, and you take part at your own risk. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising at a venue, or for a venue cancelling, closing or failing to provide what it advertised. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. [To be confirmed by counsel.]

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top tells you when they last changed, and continuing to use Players after that means the updated terms apply.
