Privacy Policy

This is a working draft. What it says we collect is accurate to how the product works today, but it has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and the bracketed details still need to be filled in.
1. Who is responsible
[Legal entity name], registered at [registered address], India, decides how the data described here is used. Reach us at [privacy email].
2. What we collect
Your phone number, because it is how you sign in and how a venue reaches you about a booking. Your name and profile photo only if you choose to add them — an account works without either. A name typed for one booking is kept with that booking and is not added to your account.
Your bookings: which venue and court, the date and time, what you paid, and any refund request you raise along with the note you attach to it.
Payment records: the amount, status and reference for each payment. Card and UPI details are entered with our payment processor and never reach our servers.
Rough location, to sort venues by distance. Two separate things happen here: our host derives an approximate city from your IP address on the first page load, and — only if you press “Use my location” and your browser asks you to agree — we read a more precise position. That precise position is stored in your own browser and expires after a day. It is never sent to us.
3. Why we use it
To create your account and sign you in, to take a booking and payment and pass the booking to the venue, to handle refunds and support, and to keep the service secure and working. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who else sees it
The venue you book receives the booking, including the name and phone number attached to it, so it can expect you and check you in. Razorpay processes payments and receives what it needs to do that. Our SMS provider receives your phone number to deliver a one-time code. Our hosting and database providers store the data on our behalf. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
Account and booking records are kept while your account is open and for as long afterwards as tax and accounting rules require. One-time codes and sign-in sessions are short-lived and expire on their own. [Specific retention periods to be confirmed.]
6. Your choices
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Deletion does not remove records we must keep for completed bookings and payments. You can withdraw location access at any time in your browser settings, and clearing your browser storage removes the saved position immediately. Write to [privacy email] and we will respond within [30] days.
7. Security
Data travels over encrypted connections and access is limited to people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us promptly if you think your account has been misused.
8. Children
Players is not aimed at children under [age]. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
9. Changes
We will update this page when what we collect or why changes, and the date at the top will tell you when that last happened.
